This week's divorce support group topic:

Facing the Fear of Starting Over

Will I ever be loved again? How will this affect my kids? Will I be okay on my own? After divorce, fear can feel like a constant companion — running quietly underneath everything, shaping your days, keeping you small. This session is about building a new relationship with it.

Here's something worth sitting with: research suggests that about 40% of what we worry about never happens, another 30% is already in the past and can't be changed, and much of the rest is out of our hands entirely — leaving only a sliver of our fears that are truly worth the energy we give them. Fear feels like it's reading reality accurately. Usually it's a much older, more frightened part of us trying to keep us safe.

Together we'll look at the fears that come with divorce — the unknown, being alone, money, judgment, starting over — and the difference between fear that's genuinely protecting you and fear that's just keeping you stuck. Because here's the pattern: when we run from what scares us, it stays exactly the same. When we turn and face it, it begins to lose its grip.

You'll leave with a clearer, calmer way to meet your fear — and the reminder that, as Eleanor Roosevelt put it, you gain strength and courage every time you stop to look fear in the face.
